Midwest Vision Partners
acquires Missouri
practice with 3 ASCs

M
idwest Vision partners has acquired Kansas
City, Mo.-based Discover Vision Centers and its
three ASCs and nine ophthalmology practices,
Midwest Vision said Dec. 8.
Midwest Vision Partners said it will supply its nonmedi-
cal management services to support Discover Vision
Centers' growth and market expansion.
Discover Vision Centers claims to be the largest provider
of eye care in the Kansas City market, with 32 provid-
ers. The acquisition bolsters Midwest Vision's existing
six ophthalmic practices and four ASCs in St. Louis and
Columbus, Ohio.
Chesterfield, Mo.-based Midwest Vision Partners focuses
on ophthalmic and integrated eye care. n
EyeCare Partners acquires
Florida practice with ASC

Largo-based Eye Institute of West Florida has joined St.
Louis-based ophthalmology group EyeCare Partners.
The Eye Institute of West Florida includes five eye care loca-
tions, an aesthetic institute and an ASC.
The addition expands EyeCare Partners' Florida footprint.
Its network includes more than 1,000 providers, 640 eye
care locations and 28 ASCs nationwide.
Physician Growth Partners advised the partnership, accord-
ing to a Nov. 18 news release from the consulting firm.
"We felt [EyeCare Partners'] position as the nation's lead-
ing integrated eye care network and the resources at their
disposal would best enable the Eye Institute of West Florida
to continue to accelerate their growth while maintaining
their clinical reputation. We have no doubt that this part-
nership will be incredibly successful for years to come,"
said Michael Kroin, a managing partner at Physician
Growth Partners. n
Arizona practice
joins GI Alliance

handler, Ariz.-based East Valley Gastroenterology
and Hepatology Associates is joining GI Alliance,
the Dallas-based gastro organization said in a Dec. 7
news release.
East Valley Gastroenterology and Hepatology Associates
is a six-physician practice that opened in 2004. It cares for
more than 13,000 patients annually across three locations,
according to the release.
"With EVGHA's addition, GI Alliance now fully supports all
major areas within the greater Phoenix market, including
the quickly growing Chandler/Gilbert area in Southeast
Phoenix. This partnership complements our planned
expansion in the coming year to better meet the needs of
patients throughout Arizona," GI Alliance CEO Jim Weber,
MD, said in the release. n
United Digestive
adds 9-physician
Atlanta practice

A
tlanta-based physician practice management
company United Digestive signed a deal to expand
the resources of Digestive Care Physicians in Johns
Creek, Ga., United Digestive said Dec. 7.
Digestive Care Physicians was founded in 2011 and
operates five clinics and an endoscopy center in metro
Atlanta with nine providers. The practice will remain clini-
cally independent while expanding its service offerings.
United Digestive also added DeKalb Gastroenterology
Associates, an 11-provider practice with locations in De-
catur and Lithonia, Ga., to its network in early November.
United Digestive has a presence in Georgia, Florida,
South Carolina and North Carolina, with a portfolio of
more than 80 locations and 120 physicians. n
