Established in 2005, this DSO has acquired or launched more than 30 den- tal, orthodontic or multispecialty prac- tices across Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire. All Simply Dental Management practices operate under five core values: "We care; do what's right; integrity and respect; encourage individual growth and development; and bring your smile." Swish Dental (Austin, Texas). Swish fo- cuses on elevating the patient expe- rience through a comfort-centric ap- proach. With 10 locations, each office embodies the unique characteristics of the neighborhood it serves. United Dental Partners (Chicago). In 2014, Scott Goldman, DDS, and Lou- is Whitesman, DDS, merged their four combined practices to form WhiteGo- ld Dental Partners. The DSO later be- came United Dental Partners and now includes more than 25 practices across Illinois and Indiana. Underbite Dental Brands (New York City). This DSO focuses on healthcare technology and the psychology of pa- tients and employees. Underbite Dental Brands has offices across three states. US Dental Surgery Network (Nashville, Tenn.). This DSO specializes in the devel- opment and expansion of oral surgery services to large DSOs. The organiza- tion recently acquired clinical practice groups in Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia and Maryland. USDSN has part- nered with OMS Logistics in five states to provide clinical services to 39 large mul- tidoctor practices. Vesper Alliance (Cincinnati, Ohio). Ves- per Alliance is the DSO arm of Advance Dentistry, an anesthesia-driven practice specializing in care for specific patient populations. The organization focus- es on unlocking dentistry for patients, particularly those whose fear, anxiety, physical limitations and/or medical con- ditions have created a barrier to effec- tive treatment. Vista Verde Dental Partners (Carmel, Ind.). The multiplatform DSO supports two unique brands: Britely Dentures & Implants and Same Day Dental. Britely is a DPO where doctors have equity in the economic upside in the practice and with practices solely focused on denture and implant procedures. Same Day Den- tal is a more traditional DSO model, sup- porting a multilocation practice. Western Dental (Orange, Calif.). With more than 333 locations, this DSO op- erates in California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Alabama. Overall, 235 of its offices are in California, making Western Dental the state's largest oral healthcare provider. This spring, the DSO partnered with dental implant maker Straumann Group, which will provide implants, abut- ments and crowns for Western Dental-af- filiated offices. Zak Dental (Downey, Calif.). The 12-of- fice DSO is a multispecialty group in Southern California. The organization accepts all dental insurance plans and union plans. n NADG appoints new CEO By Gabrielle Masson P ittsburgh-based North American Dental Group has tapped Jonathan Walker to be the organization's CEO, effective immedi- ately, according to a Sept. 8 news release. Mr. Walker, NADG's chief financial officer, suc- ceeds Ken Cooper, an NADG co-founder who has led the company since its inception in 2008. Mr. Cooper will transition to an advisory role within the DSO focused on development and new af- filiation opportunities. He said he will be a cul- tural ambassador for the company and focus on outside causes, such as supporting mental health awareness. Prior to joining NADG, Mr. Walker was CEO of Pittsburgh-based MedExpress, helping the com- pany more than double in size in four years. NADG currently supports more than 250 dental practices across 15 states. n Guardian Dentistry Partners gets $100M+ financing, set to announce 20+ new partnerships By Gabrielle Masson M iami-based Guardian Dentistry Partners has secured more than $100 million in debt financing from Chicago-based Twin Brook Capital Partners, according to a Sept. 13 news release. "This financing is reflective of confidence in our business plan and in our incredible dental entrepreneur founders and partners," said Mark Censoprano, president of Guardian Dentistry Partners. "With Twin Brook's support, we are now primed to grow even more quickly and we're confident we will achieve our objectives." Guardian is set to announce new partnerships with nearly 30 den- tal practices in the coming months, including partnerships in two new states. The dental partnership network was founded in 2018 and has expand- ed rapidly to support dental entrepreneurs in Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. n
