Self-employed: $424,932 n CMS approves additional reimbursement for single-use duodenoscopes By Patsy Newitt C MS granted a new technology add-on payment for single-use duodenoscopes, according to an Aug. 2 news release. Beginning Oct. 1, CMS will provide hospitals with additional device reimbursement when a single-use duodenoscope is used for eligible cases of endoscopic retrograde cholangio- pancreatography procedures in the hospital inpatient setting. The add-on is applicable to Boston Scientific's Exalt Model D Single-Use Duodenoscope, a device designed to eliminate infections caused by ineffective reprocessing of reusable duodenoscopes. The Exalt Model D Single-Use Duodenoscope was granted transitional pass-through payment by CMS in 2020, allowing for incremental device reimbursement for cases performed in the hospital outpatient setting. n Gastro Health adds practice with 7 physicians in Virginia By Carly Behm M iami, Fla.-based practice management group Gastro Health signed an agreement to add Reston, Va.-based The Gastroenterol- ogy Group, according to an Aug. 3 news release. The Gastroenterology Group was founded in 1987 and has seven gastroenterologists and three physi- cian assistants. Gastro Health will also acquire The Gastroenterology Group's endoscopy center in Reston. This will be Gastro Health's 11th partnership in the region. The platform has partnerships in six states: Florida, Alabama, Washington, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland. n
