Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health and
Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health
System finalized an agreement to jointly
operate Baptist Health Madisonville (Ky.),
effective Sept. 1.
Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare
finalized a deal to acquire 80 percent of
Brookdale Senior Living's hospice, home
health and outpatient therapy division.
Perry Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed critical
access hospital in Princeton, Ill., officially
joined OSF HealthCare in Peoria, Ill. e
hospital was renamed OSF HealthCare Saint
Clare Medical Center.
Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health
acquired full ownership of Novant Health
UVA Health System, a three-hospital system
based in Northern Virginia, according to a
July 1 announcement.
Great River Medical Center in West
Burlington, Iowa, and Fort Madison (Iowa)
Community Hospital will become one hospital
with two locations.

Ala., signed a letter of intent to join the nine-
hospital Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital Health
System, effective Oct. 1.
East Carolina University and Vidant Health —
both in Greenville, N.C. — are creating a new
health system in eastern North Carolina.
Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health
signed a definitive agreement to acquire
Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare.
Select Medical, an operator of long-term care
and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals based
in Mechanicsburg, Pa., will add seven critical
illness recovery hospitals and eight outpatient
clinics to its network through a series of
transactions.
Rush Health Systems, a seven-hospital system
in Meridian, Miss., signed an agreement to
join New Orleans-based Ochsner Health.
Two Michigan health systems — Beaumont
Health in Southfield and Spectrum Health in
Grand Rapids — have signed a letter of intent
to create a new 22-hospital health system.
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare will sell five
hospitals in Florida to Dallas-based Steward
Health Care for $1.1 billion. e five Florida
hospitals included in the sale are Coral
Gables Hospital, Florida Medical Center in
Lauderdale Lakes, Hialeah Hospital, North
Shore Medical Center in Miami and Palmetto
General Hospital in Hialeah.
Monongahela Valley Hospital, a 200-bed
facility in Wickerham Manor-Fisher, Pa.,
signed a definitive agreement to join DuBois,
Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare.
Roanoke, Va.-based American Healthcare
System finalized its deal to acquire Randolph
Health, a bankrupt single-hospital system
based in Asheboro, N.C.
Harrington HealthCare System, a Southbridge,
Mass.-based system comprising a 119-bed
hospital, satellite location and three medical
office buildings, joined Worcester, Mass.-
based UMass Memorial Health on July 1.
University Health Care System, a three-
hospital system based in Augusta, Ga., signed
a letter of intent to join Piedmont Healthcare
in Atlanta. n
