58 INNOVATION Johns Hopkins, HHS, 25 more health IT orgs form digital health collaborative By Jackie Drees T he Digital Medicine Society round- ed up 27 health systems, health IT companies and policy organizations as part of a collaborative that aims to create best approaches for measuring health using digital technologies. e Digital Health Measurement Collabo- rative Community will work together to ad- dress medical device challenges ranging from increasing digital health literacy to integrat- ing data from consumer-fitness trackers into EHRs, according a June 3 news release. e group will focus on the following pri- ority areas: data governance, data rights, data inclusion, reimbursement commercial models and standardization of elements of digital sensor products and the data they produce. Xealth n Mount Sinai launches digital health incubator By Katie Adams M ount Sinai Innovation Partners, the New York City-based health system's commercializa- tion engine, launched Elementa Labs, a vir- tual incubator program to foster the growth of digital health startups. Three things to know: 1. Elementa Labs, launched June 8, will connect digital health startups to Mount Sinai's subject matter experts, who will provide the companies with expertise, resourc- es and access to key stakeholders. 2. The rolling application process for the first cohort will conclude Sept. 31. 3. The first member of the program's inaugural cohort is avoMD, a startup offering decision support for clini- cians. The startup will work with Mount Sinai to conduct research, validate studies and ensure its platform is ready to be integrated into leading health systems. n LifeBridge's innovation chief gets new role By Kelly Gooch D aniel Durand, MD, has been chosen as the chief clin- ical officer at LifeBridge Health, the Baltimore-based health system said June 14. Dr. Durand, who is chief innovation officer at the organi- zation, will continue to serve as chair of the radiology de- partment at the health system's Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Md. He began his new role July 1. As chief clinical officer, Dr. Durand will focus on improve- ments in care cost and quality for the health system's value-based contracts (including its employee health plan), as well as on both patient and provider experience, health system officials said. Many of Dr. Durand's chief innovation officer duties will be taken over by Pothik Chatterjee, executive director of innovation and research at LifeBridge. n
