NADG added the new position to enhance the patient experience. Ms. Penn will be tasked with overseeing the group's patient engagement and marketing and commu- nication efforts. Ms. Penn was most recently the executive vice president of MedExpress, where she oversaw the company's marketing, communications, strategy and innovations. She received a bachelor's degree from Emory University in Atlanta and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business in New York City. North American Dental Group is based in Pittsburgh and has a network of more than 250 dental practices across 15 states. n Heartland Dental, American Dental Partners close strategic transaction By Ariana Portalatin H eartland Dental has closed its strategic transaction with American Dental Partners, according to a June 15 press release. The Effingham, Ill.-based DSO announced the agreement May 14. The strategic transaction allows American Dental Partners' practices to utilize Heartland Dental for market- ing, office operations, information technology, human re- sources and payer relations. Heartland Dental serves 1,150 dental offices across 38 states. ADPI has 23 dental practices across 21 states. n Aspen Dental launches doctor-guided, same-day clear aligners By Gabrielle Masson A spen Dental Management has launched Motto, a clear aligner experience exclusively available at the DSO's 900 locations. At a time when 7 out of 10 patients would benefit from orthodon- tic treatment, and more than 30,000 patients visiting the Aspen Dental network each day, Motto will fill a large dental care gap. Aspen Dental dentists will guide patients at every step, begin- ning with a precision digital scan to custom-craft each aligner. On-site labs and advanced in-office technology will allow pa- tients to leave with their "tray one on day one."
