Eight of the 493 newcomers were in U.S. healthcare, according to Forbes. For the list, Forbes calculated net worth by using stock prices and ex- change rates from March 5. ese healthcare industry leaders are listed below with their net worth, as determined by Forbes. e newcomers are bolded. 1. omas Frist Jr., MD. Chief scientific officer of Regeneron: $1.1 billion n HCA adopts performance bonus program for execs By Ayla Ellison T he compensation committee of HCA Healthcare's board of directors adopted a senior officer perfor- mance bonus program for 2021 on April 9, accord- ing to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Under the program, the Nashville, Tenn.-based compa- ny's executives are eligible to earn bonuses based on hitting certain performance targets. The award opportu- nities are available for hitting certain EBITDA and quality metric targets, including healthcare-associated infec- tions and care experience. Under the program, HCA CEO Samuel Hazen can earn up to 170 percent of his base salary in cash bo- nuses, and the company's Executive Vice President and CFO William Rutherford can earn up to 125 per- cent of his salary. The company's American Group and National Group presidents can earn up to 110 percent of their base salaries in cash bonuses under the performance pro- gram, and its CMO and clinical operations group presi- dent Jonathan Perlin, MD, can earn up to 85 percent of his salary. n
