50 JOINT VENTURES PIH Health acquires LA cardiology practice By Patsy Newitt W hittier, Calif.-based PIH Health has acquired cardiovascular care group Los Angeles Car- diology Associates. After the acquisition, Los Angeles Cardiology As- sociates' 12 healthcare providers and seven medical offices will be part of PIH Health Physicians, according to an April 1 release. PIH is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network that serves roughly 3.7 million California residents with its 35 outpatient medical office buildings and three hospitals. Los Angeles Cardiology Associates are leaders in tech- niques like transcatheter aortic valve replacement and transcatheter mitral valve repair and replacement. n American Vision Partners acquires Southwest Eye Institute, expands into 2 states By Eric Oliver S an Francisco-based American Vision Partners continued its growth by acquiring El Paso, Texas- based Southwest Eye Institute, the platform an- nounced March 11. Founded in 2004, Southwest Eye Institute is the largest eye care practice in El Paso, and also operates in Las Cruces, N.M. AVP will expand into both states through the partnership. Southwest Eye Institute will retain its branding, and no changes will be made to the practice in its current iteration. American Vision Partners is backed by private equity firm H.I.G. Capital. n $75M clinic with ASC breaks ground in Washington By Patsy Newitt V ancouver Clinic and healthcare real estate devel- oper PMB broke ground March 17 on their joint venture, a $75 million clinic in Vancouver, Wash. The 80,225-square-foot, three-story clinic is expected to be completed in November 2022, according to a press release from Vancouver Clinic. In addition to an ASC and urgent care services, the clinic will offer orthopedics, pain manage- ment, physical therapy, podiatry and other specialties. PMB is one of the nation's leading medical office building developers, and owns and manages over 65 medical facili- ties. The firm views the clinic as an opportunity to make up for the finance gap caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Vancouver Clinic is the largest private multispecialty clinic in Clark County, Wash., and currently boasts 11 locations, 1,200 employees and 400 providers. This will be Vancou- ver Clinic's 12th location in the state. n Surgery Partners breaks ground on Missouri ASC By Patsy Newitt A partnership between Surgery Partners, Ryan Com- panies US and St. Peters, Mo.-based Advanced Bone & Joint broke ground on St. Peters Ambula- tory Surgery Center and Medical Office Building. The multispecialty, 46,000-square-foot facility will include an ASC, orthopedic clinic, imaging center and physical therapy center, according to a March 18 release. Ryan Companies is developing and building the facility, which is expected to be finished by March 2022. This will be Ryan Companies' sixth partnership with Brentwood, Tenn.-based Surgery Partners and second project in St. Peters. The facility is near Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and hopes to provide a centralized location for orthopedic and ancillary services in Northwest Missouri. n
