An Illinois review board approved the sale of Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago to nonprofit Insight Chicago. Searcy, Ark.-based Unity Health acquired a hospital in Jacksonville, Ark., that closed in August 2019 from Shreveport, La.-based Allegiance Health Management. Temple University Hospital, part of Philadelphia-based Temple Health, has signed an agreement to acquire a cancer hospital in Philadelphia from Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Behavioral healthcare provider Acadia Healthcare signed a definitive agreement to buy Adventist Health's behavioral health hospital in Vallejo, Calif. A bankruptcy judge approved the sale of Calais (Maine) Regional Hospital to Down East Community Hospital in Machias, Maine. Trinity Health, a 92-hospital system based in Livonia, Mich., has acquired a majority ownership stake in Premier Health, a Baton Rouge, La.-based operator of urgent care clinics. Oklahoma City-based OU Medicine and its parent organization have signed a letter of intent to merge with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine to create an academic health system Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare plans to acquire a majority ownership stake in Kindred Hospital Peoria. Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, N.Y., is in talks to join NYU Langone in New York City. Salina (Kan.) Regional Health Center will take over management and operations of Memorial Health System in Abilene, Kan., next year. Kansas City, Mo.-based Noble Health has acquired a 100-year-old Missouri hospital from St. Louis-based SSM Health. Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, S.D., is no longer pursuing a merger with Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare. n
