31 DEVICES & IMPLANTS Camber spine to launch OLIF training program for surgeons By Alan Condon D evice company Camber Spine is launching a multicity surgical training series for oblique lateral interbody fusion, beginning Feb. 27 at the Miami Anatomical Research Institute. The program offers surgeons the opportunity to expand their options accessing the anterior spine through an oblique ap- proach. Educators will offer didactic sessions, hands-on ca- daveric training and case reviews. The OLIF technique is a less invasive approach to the lumbar spine, which allows for faster recovery time and minimized psoas disruption, according to Camber Spine. The approach is designed for improved disc space visualization and offers surgeons the ability to access multiple levels through one incision without repositioning the patient. The OLIF program will also take place in Las Vegas on May 1 and Austin, Texas, on Sept. 1, before returning to Miami Nov. 6. Additional dates and locations will be announced in the coming weeks. n Massachusetts, Rhode Island practices to forge 60-plus physician group By Alan Condon P rovidence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics is part- nering with Easton, Mass.-based Orthopedic Care Physician Network to become one of the biggest orthopedic groups in New England.
