Four details: 1. The practice's new office is equipped with an intervention- al procedures lab that focuses on nonsurgical approaches to rehabilitation and treatment. 2. Erlanger Neurosurgery and Spine has eight surgeons who provide the full spectrum of spine and neurosurgical care, according to its website. 3. Chattanooga Neurosurgery & Spine Clinic became Er- langer Neurosurgery and Spine when it expanded its neu- rosciences program and joined Erlanger Health System in 2015. 4. Erlanger Neurosurgery and Spine began seeing patients at the new location on Jan. 25. n Florida orthopedic group to add spine surgery By Alan Condon A tlantis Orthopaedics, with locations in Palm Beach Gardens and Lake Worth, Fla., aims to expand with new locations and by adding spine care to its list of services, South Florida Hospital News reported Feb. 16. This year, Atlantis Orthopaedics, part of HCA Health- care's East Florida Division, plans to open locations in Boynton Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Margate and Davie, Fla. In the past four months, the practice added two sur- geons: Mamun Al Rashid, MD, a total joint and orthope- dic oncology specialist, and Vani Sabesan, MD, a shoul- der and elbow surgery specialist. The additions increased the number of physicians at At- lantis Orthopaedics to eight. n Idaho orthopedic clinic to deliver coronavirus vaccinations By Alan Condon T he Sports and Orthopedic Center at Idaho State University in Pocatello is organizing a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for priority groups in the community, beginning Feb. 18, the Idaho State Journal reports. The clinic is a collaboration between ISU, Southeastern Idaho Public Health and Portneuf Medical Center. Vaccine providers from ISU will include student nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and dental hygiene students. Southeastern Idaho Public Health will provide nurses, clinical staff, vaccine and supplies, while Portneuf Medical Center has offered use of its facility on the uni- versity campus. Southeast Idaho has about 27,000 residents aged 65 or older who have been prioritized for the next phase of vaccinations, according to the report. Vaccination of those in the current stage — healthcare and emergency workers, educators and residents of nursing facilities — will continue. The clinic has the capacity to administer about 600 dos- es of the vaccine per day. n Revamped Colorado hospital to offer spine, orthopedic surgery By Alan Condon A new-look Centennial (Colo.) Hospital, formerly Centennial Medical Plaza, will open March 1 with a number of new service lines that include orthope- dics and spine surgery, the Centennial Citizen reports. The facility's medical office buildings continue to house new specialty providers that also extend to sports medicine, on- cology and general surgery. Centennial Hospital was previously a freestanding emer- gency room with outpatient services, according to the re- port. The expansion adds 20 inpatient beds and more than 80 staff to the hospital, which is part of Denver-based Heal- thOne. The facility previously had about 45 staff. Affiliated with The Medical Center of Aurora, Centennial Hospital is equipped with four ICU beds and ventilators should it need to treat COVID-19 patients. n
