25 JOINT VENTURES South Florida ENT Associates, Texas ENT Specialist announce partnership By Carly Behm M iami Lakes-based South Florida ENT Associates and Houston-based Texas ENT Specialists partnered to create a 60-practice entity, according to a Jan. 11 news release. The partnership combines the organizations' range of oto- laryngology services to Florida and Texas communities, the release said. Audax Private Equity backed the merger. "Partnering with [South Florida ENT Associates] has been a smooth transition, as their company values align seamlessly with our own," Texas ENT Specialists leader J. Cary Moorhead, MD, said in the release. "By combining our strengths, we now can look to build greater stability and long-standing, proven successes in clinical excellence. Together, we form an even greater platform that we believe has the ability to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience." n ENT Partners closes 2020 with acquisitions in Illinois, Maryland By Carly Behm E NT Partners finished 2020 acquiring Barrington, Ill.-based Specialty Care Institute and Baltimore-based Maryland ENT Center, according to a Jan. 12 news release. Specialty Care Institute has three locations, two board-certified otolaryngologists, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and two audiologists, the release said. Maryland ENT Center has three locations and three board-certified otolaryngologists. "We are thrilled to welcome Specialty Care Institute and Maryland ENT Center to the ENT Partners family," ENT Partners CEO Jim Feinstein said in the release. "The ASC and fellow- ship programs that Maryland ENT offers are key factors that will accelerate our growth plans for the Baltimore region. The SCI partnership offers comprehensive alignment from clinical service and quality assurance to strategic geographic locations that further expand our footprint in the Chicago market to the western suburbs." n ValueHealth opens 2021 with two big moves By Carly Behm L eawood, Kan.-based ValueHealth leaped into the new year with two major developments in January. It's creating a total joint-focused surgery center in Chadds Ford, Pa., according to a Jan. 12 announce- ment. The center will be developed by Astoria Healthcare Properties and operate as a joint venture between ValueHealth and WIlmington, Del.-based ChristianaCare and local physicians. Two days later, the company announced its acquisi- tion of Oswego, Ill.-based Kendall Pointe Surgery Center. The surgery center hosts a variety of ser- vices, and plans for expansion are underway. n Kentucky Baptist Health affiliate building outpatient center with surgery center By Eric Oliver B aptist Health Louisville (Ky.) is building an outpatient center on the former site of a lo- cal hotel, local ABC affiliate WHAS reported Jan. 11. The outpatient center will be a five-story medical office building. It'll house physician practices, a sur- gery center, urgent care, and physical and occupa- tional therapy services. Baptist anticipates developing the facility in two years and will consolidate several physician prac- tices into the space. The cost of the project wasn't disclosed. n
