24 JOINT VENTURES ENT Partners announces acquisition of Chicago-area practice By Carly Behm E NT Partners acquired Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Arlington ENT — Head & Neck and Facial Plastic Surgery, according to a Jan. 7 news release. This is the third Chicago-area acquisition for ENT Part- ners, the release said. The move expands the compa- ny's facial plastics and cosmetic ancillary service line. Arlington ENT is headed by Lawrence Martin, MD, the release said. The center focuses on cosmetic recon- structve facial plastic surgery and rhinoplasty and rhinoplasty revision. "This particular partnership is a perfect example of the benefits of ENT Partners' flexible transition and succes- sion planning solutions has to offer physicians like Dr. Martin, his patient base and the communities served," ENT Partners CEO Jim Feinstein said in the release. n $187M Florida orthopedic facility will include outpatient surgery center By Eric Oliver O rlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is developing a 371,000-square-foot healthcare facility in Orlando, Fla., that'll feature an outpa- tient surgery center, Rebusinessonline reported Jan. 8. The orthopedic group expects to invest $187 million into the development. The group plans to open the medical pavilion and sur- gery center in 2022, with the rest of the facility opening in 2023. Once complete, the development will have an eight- story building with 75 inpatient rooms and 10 operat- ing rooms. It will be connected to a six-story medical office building that will feature another 12 operating rooms. n $500M Kaiser project altered by COVID-19 could have surgery center By Eric Oliver O akland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente is devel- oping a $500 million facility in Seattle, but the COVID-19 pandemic altered what may be in the final development plan, the Puget Sound Business Jour- nal reported Jan. 10. The health system announced the project a year ago. It originally was going to include specialty care, a sur- gery center, a laboratory, a pharmacy and urgent care services, among others. Kaiser is currently working to determine what services it will still include in the facility. Kaiser plans to build a nine-story, 240,000-square-foot facility. The facility originally was going to open in 2024 but was delayed. Kaiser recently acquired the 1.6 acres the facility will sit on for $36.3 million. n Flagship acquires Florida surgery center By Eric Oliver F lagship Healthcare Trust acquired Panama City (Fla.) Surgery Center, its second acquisition in the state within the week, the firm announced Jan. 4. The surgery center is 17,000 square feet. The center has four operating rooms and two gastroenterology/pain management rooms and offers robotic surgery as well as laser-assisted surgeries. Panama City Surgery Center is affiliated with Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates. Gerald Quattlebaum, executive vice president of ac- quisitions at Flagship, said, "This acquisition epitomizes our strategy of adding the most advanced, strongest- performing ASCs in dynamic healthcare markets in our geography." n
