The Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I., has promoted chief nursing executive Maria Ducharme, DNP, RN, to president. Paul Babcock was chosen as CEO of Health & Hospital Corp. of Marion County (Ind.). David Steitz was named CEO of Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles, Ky. Clyde Wood was named network CEO of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, N.C., and Davis Regional Med- ical Center in Statesville, N.C. Betsy Nabel, MD, is stepping down as pres- ident of Boston-based Brigham Health, ef- fective March 1. George Hager Jr. has retired as CEO of Ken- nett Square, Pa.-based Genesis Healthcare, and Bob Fish, chair of the Genesis board of directors, has been tapped as his successor. Julie Sprengel, RN, has been tapped as pres- ident of CommonSpirit Health's expanded Southern California division. Paul Belter was appointed executive vice president and CFO of Kaleida Health in Buffalo, N.Y. Laura Buczkowski was named senior vice president and CFO of York, Pa.-based Well- Span Health. Paul Jenny was named senior vice president and CFO of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Shalen Young was named CFO of Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, Ariz. MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas named Julie Taylor, MSN, RN, its CEO. Debbie Streier has been named the new regional president and CEO for Avera Mar- shall (Minn.) Regional Medical Center. Danielle Drummond became president and CEO of Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health. Gina Calder was named president of BJC HealthCare hospitals in St. Charles County, Mo. Justin Coury was named CEO of TriStar Hendersonville (Tenn.) Medical Center. Roland Cruickshank, president of Method- ist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., resigned. Trident Health president and CEO Todd Gallati is stepping down from the Charles- ton, S.C.-based health system in 2021. David Hess, MD, is taking on the CEO role at Uniontown (Pa.) Hospital in addition to his position as president and CEO of Reyn- olds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, W.Va. HSHS St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Ill., named Theresa Rutherford its next presi- dent and CEO. Sean Smith, COO of WVU Medicine Cam- den Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, W.Va., became president of Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, W.Va. Richard Tanzella is the new CEO of East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, La. Renee Jensen was named CEO of Sno- qualmie (Wash.) Valley Hospital. Twilla Lee was tapped as CEO of Lutheran Downtown Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. Mary Starmann-Harrison, RN, president and CEO of Hospital Sisters Health System, plans to retire in the second half of 2021. Wes Booysen is stepping down as CFO of Nashville, Tenn.-based Envision Healthcare. Jeffrey Coakley is the new CEO of Commu- nity Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, N.Y. Ava Collins was named CEO of MetroW- est Medical Center campuses in Natick and Framingham, Mass. Mitch Edgeworth was tapped as president of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare's TriStar division. James Houser was tapped as president of the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania and the region's STAT MedEvac critical care air ambulance transport system. Daryn Kumar was named president of Dig- nity Health's Saint Francis Memorial Hos- pital and St. Mary's Medical Center, both in San Francisco. John Schwarz was named president of Bryn Mawr (Pa.) Some programs that I'm proud of and eager to continue shap- ing to meet the needs of our communities include: • 65 Forward, which are senior-focused facilities dedicated to meeting all the needs for health and well-being of patients 65 and older • Geisinger at Home, which brings personalized care to the sick- est patients within their home, to keep patients healthier, safer and better connected to our healthcare team • Geisinger Primary Care Scholars, a program providing debt- free medical school and a modernized curriculum on emerg- ing approaches to primary care • Mail Order Pharmacy: Geisinger has seen a 37 percent increase in medication adherence since we've delivered prescription re- fills to the home. n
