Tyrone (Pa.) Hospital has joined DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare, the organizations announced Nov. 4. A measure to sell Petaluma (Calif.) Valley Hospital to an affiliate of Rent- on, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health was approved by voters in November. e affiliate is NorCal HealthConnect. Yavapai Regional Medical Center, a two-hospital system based in Prescott, Ariz., has joined Dignity Health's Arizona division. Cleveland-based University Hospitals will become a minority partner of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based Western Reserve Hospital under an agree- ment announced Nov. 4. ree Rivers (Mich.) Health, a single-hospital system, signed a letter of intent in November to join Beacon Health System in South Bend, Ind. Two hospitals in Illinois received approval from the state in Novem- ber to combine and consolidate operations. e two hospitals are St. Margaret's Health in Spring Valley, Ill., and Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Westchester General Hospital, a physician-owned hospital in Miami, was acquired by Miami healthcare management firm Keralty Health Enterprise. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems completed the sale of two hospitals in Texas. CHS sold the 231-bed Abilene Regional Med- ical Center and the 188-bed Brownwood Regional Medical Center to Abilene-based Hendrick Health System. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare and Sioux Falls, S.D.- based Sanford Health have signed a letter of intent to merge. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems announced Oct. 23 that it has completed the divestiture of San Angelo (Texas) Community Medical Center to Shannon Health System in San Angelo. A bankruptcy judge authorized the $20 million sale of Astria Region- al Medical Center in Yakima, Wash., and a neighboring medical office building to Yakima MOBIC, a local investment group. CentraState Healthcare System, a single-hospital system based in Free- hold, N.J., has signed a definitive agreement to join Atlantic Health Sys- tem, a seven-hospital system based in Morristown, N.J. West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health plans to sell its hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, to Quincy, Ill.-based Blessing Health System. Lumberton, N.C.-based Southeastern Health and Chapel Hill, N.C.- based UNC Health have entered into a letter of intent that would make Southeastern the 12th member of UNC's system. Randolph Health, a single-hospital system based in Asheboro, N.C., sold for $18.5 million to Roanoke, Va.-based American Healthcare Systems. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health and Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Health have completed their merger, creating a 42-hospital system with more than 70,000 employees. Albany, N.Y.-based St. Peter's Health Partners and Schenectady, N.Y.- based Ellis Medicine have signed a letter of intent to explore combining. Orlando (Fla.) Health completed the $86 million acquisition of Bay- front Health St. Petersburg (Fla.) and its associated assets from Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems. e New Hanover County Commissioners voted to approve Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health's $5.3 billion deal to pur- chase New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C. Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth has acquired Exodus Wom- en's Center, a medical practice with 12 locations in Florida. New Orleans-based LCMC Health has completed its acquisition of East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, La. Advocate Aurora Health, with dual headquarters in Milwaukee and Downers Grove, Ill., and Beaumont Health, in Southfield, Mich., have called off plans to merge. Wyoming Medical Center in Casper has officially joined Phoenix-based Banner Health, the organizations said Oct.1. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has sold Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport, Miss., to Singing River Health System in Pascagoula, Miss. Lafayette (La.) General Health, a seven-hospital system, has completed its merger with New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System, roughly one year aer they signed a letter of intent to combine. UMass Memorial Health Care's acquisition of Harrington HealthCare has moved forward aer being pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. UMass Memorial is a three-hospital system in Worcester, Mass., and Harrington HealthCare is in Southbridge, Mass. UT Health San Antonio and University Health System in San Antonio have signed a memorandum of understanding to create an integrated health delivery system. e 223-bed Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital signed a letter of intent to join Morgantown-based West Virginia University Health System. Palos Health, a system with 3,000 employees in Palos Heights, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to join Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine. e deal was announced Sept. 11. Delano (Calif.) Regional Medical Center officially joined Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health. Two Providence, R.I.-based health systems — Lifespan and Care New England Health System — have signed a letter of intent to combine into one nonprofit organization with Brown University. Lubbock, Texas-based Covenant Health plans to acquire Lea Regional Medical Center, a 99-bed hospital in Hobbs, N.M. n
