BrightInsight, No. 13: San Jose, Calif.-based IT company that helps drugmakers and med- ical devicemakers use their data to produce better patient outcomes. Capsule, No. 15: New York City-based ho- listic online digital pharmacy that offers free, same-day delivery. Modern Health, No. 16: San Francisco-based soware company that offers a mental health platform for employees. Curative, No. 17: Los Angeles-based biotech company that produces diagnostic tests. Mindstrong, No. 34: Mountain View, Ca- lif.-based mental health company that con- nects patients with severe mental health con- ditions to therapists for virtual treatment. Alto Pharmacy, No. 49: San Francisco-based digital pharmacy that offers free prescription delivery, remote access to pharmacists and price transparency. n Tampa General, Philips ink 7-year, multimillion-dollar digital transformation deal: 4 details By Laura Dyrda T ampa (Fla.) General Hospital signed a seven-year strategic partnership with Royal Philips to boost technological inno- vation, focusing on remote patient care. Four things to know: 1. Philips will provide millions of dollars' worth of software pack- ages, healthcare informatics, workflow solutions and high-level consulting to Tampa General as part of the agreement. 2. Under the terms of the partnership, Tampa General will replace bedside patient and vital sign monitors in its 1,006-bed hospital and upgrade imaging equipment in the catheterization labs and interventional radiology rooms with Philips technology. 3. Philips will also implement cloud-based technologies at the hospital, including PerformanceBridge — a real-time data platform designed to improve productivity and reduce costs. Tampa Gen- eral will be able to integrate existing technologies with the Philips solutions. 4. The partners have already spent 1,000-plus hours on replac- ing technology and conducted 400 clinical staff interviews to im- prove the patient and staff experience. "Tampa General's vision is to become the safest and most innova- tive academic health system in America, and long-term commit- ments like this one help us achieve that vision," said John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General. n Mayo Clinic rolls out digital care, diagnostics platform: 4 things to know By Katie Adams R ochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic launched a platform to increase remote di- agnostic access for commonly transmitted diseases, the health system said Oct. 12. Four key details about the platform: 1. Mayo Clinic partnered with health IT company Safe Health Group to create the platform. It origi- nated from the Mayo Clinic and Arizona State Uni- versity Alliance for Health Care MedTech Accel- erator program, which was instituted to advance digital healthcare research and technologies. 2. The platform seeks to lower the cost of care for low-complexity conditions by combining virtual healthcare provider services, artificial intelligence care automation and remote point-of-care diag- nostics. 3. Initially, the platform will focus on providing re- mote testing for COVID-19, sexually transmitted diseases and other common ailments. 4. The platform is part of the Mayo Clinic Platform, the health system's effort to improve healthcare delivery through data-based insights. n
