Mr. Marshall previously served as division vice president for operations and gastroenterology for Nashville, Tenn.- based AmSurg. He was responsible for 65 endoscopy centers and more than $250 million in revenue. He also led the team of division vice presidents and regional vice presidents that managed ASCs for the company. In his new role, he will be part of the executive team at Nashville-based Surgery Partners, which has around 4,000 affiliated physicians and 128 surgical facilities across the U.S. In the second quarter, the company posted a nearly 16 percent revenue de- crease due to elective surgery restrictions during the pandemic. However, Board Chair Wayne DeVeydt said he is "cautiously optimistic" that the company can maintain its trajectory in the second half of 2020 and confident in its long-term growth model. "I can't wait to see what great lessons lie ahead collabo- rating with the great team at Surgery Partners," wrote Mr. Marshall in the post. n Freestanding ASC brings Zimmer Biomet robot to South Carolina By Angie Stewart T he Surgery Center at Midlands Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery in Columbia, S.C., completed its first cases using Zimmer Biomet's Rosa Knee System in July. Three highlights: 1. The freestanding ASC was the first in South Caro- lina to use the Rosa robotic total knee, according to Paul Kostansek, program development manager at Zimmer Biomet Robotics Paul Kostansek. 2. Stryker's ASC business offers cash flow optimizing agreements, deferred payment programs and leasing options, among other financ- ing solutions. Programs can also be customized to an ASC's individual financial situation. 3. e business segment was launched to meet growing demand as total joints and other procedures increasingly migrate from hospital outpa- tient departments to ASCs. "With the potential to provide over $55 billion per year in healthcare cost savings in the U.S., this rapid shi in site of care is expected to continue over the next few years in the post-pandemic environment," Stryker said in a July 6 news release. n
