Spanning 50,000 square feet, the $21 million center will combine clinical and research activities. It will be adja- cent to Sandoval Regional Medical Center, where most of UNM's joint replacement procedures are performed. SRMC may add five more total joint surgeons in the next five years, Jamie Silva-Steele, RN, the hospital's president and CEO, told KRWG. The center is expected to open in November 2021. n Shark Tank star invests in spine surgeon's company By Alan Condon K evin Harrington, entrepreneur and former panel member on ABC's Shark Tank, has invested in CYRx MD Skincare, a com- pany founded by spine surgeon Steven Cyr, MD. Four things to know: 1. Dr. Cyr, a Mayo Clinic-trained surgeon, started CYRx MD Skincare with his wife and CEO LeAnn Cyr. 2. e company develops products to help heal post-surgical scars as well as products to help individuals with Melasma and other skin conditions. 3. Dr. Cyr specializes in revision spine surgery and cofounded San Antonio-based SASpine with Ms. Cyr in 2018. 4. SASpine recently expanded to Houston to accommodate more local and international patients. n
