Average incentive bonuses for ophthal- mologists is $96,000. 3. About 36 percent of Medicare-certified ASCs, or 2,104 centers, include orthopedics, according to CMS data reported by the Am- bulatory Surgery Center Association. 4. ere are about 137 single-specialty ortho- pedic ASCs in the U.S., which make up about 5 percent of all single-specialty centers. 5. Rothman Orthopaedics aims to use Radix's DASH software to keep up with the growing demand for tele- health, which has become part of the "new normal" in orthopedic care since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Radix's DASH software is designed to maximize schedule density, scale telehealth and offer contact- less check-in. Patients can use the technology to search physicians, ensure that their condition can be evaluated through telemedicine and schedule a virtual visit. n New York neurosurgeon featured in Netflix docuseries 'Lenox Hill' By Alan Condon N etflix debuted "Lenox Hill" June 10, a docuseries following the lives of four physicians at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, including neurosurgeon John Boockvar, MD. The series focuses on the daily tasks of each physician and how they balance work with their personal lives. Dr. Boockvar is vice chair of the department of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill, as well as director of the New York Head and Neck Institute and the Brain Tumor Center. A specialist in skull base and endoscopic pituitary surgery as well as complex spinal disorders, Dr. Boockvar was elected to the Academy of Neurological Surgeons and the Senior Society of the American Board of Neurological Surgery.. In 2007, he drew national acclaim when he performed surgery on the brain and spinal cord of a New York City window washer who fell 47 stories, helping him to walk again and regain normal function. Dr. Boockvar's dedication to his patients is a particular theme in the eight-part series, which finished filming in November, before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. He has previously been featured on ABC's "NY Med" and several episodes of "The Dr. Oz Show." n
