By Mackenzie Bean T he Leapfrog Group released its spring 2020 Hospital Safety Grades April 30, assigning "A" through "F" letter grades to more than 2,600 acute care hospi- tals for patient safety performance. Leapfrog has assigned letter grades to hos- pitals based on their patient safety perfor- mance twice annually since spring 2012. is spring, 74 percent of hospitals main- tained the same grade they earned in the fall 2019 update, and 47 hospitals changed two or more letter grades. ese 32 hospitals have maintained the highest possible grade 17 consecutive times, including the most recent update.
