Five things to know: 1. Tampa-based Florida Orthopaedic Institute merged with Clearwater-based OrthoCare Florida. e combined entity includes 150 providers and 17 locations across the Tampa Bay Area. 2. MD Healthcare Partners in Tampa led the merger and will provide executive management services to the new entity. e group aims to continue growth across the state of Florida. 3. In addition to its multiple offices, the group has eight affiliated outpatient ASCs and two orthopedic urgent care centers. It also offers physical therapy, diagnostic imaging, rehabilita- tion and chiropractic care. 4. e practice will remain physician-led and have a corporate infrastructure for employees. All employees were retained in the merger. 5. Florida Orthopaedic Institute will continue its affiliation with local hospitals and its residency and fellowship program with the University of South Florida post-merger. n 4 ASCs offering orthopedic services By Rachel Popa Four recently opened or an- nounced orthopedic ASCs: 1. Work is progressing on an ortho- pedic and spine ASC in Steamboat Springs, Colo. 2. A multispecialty ASC with cardiol- ogy and orthopedics opened in March in Dallas in the North Dallas Corridor development. 3. Muve Health opened a hyper- specialty total joint replacement center in Warminster, Pa., the orga- nization announced March 16. 4. Novant Health opened its $3 mil- lion, 13,000-square-foot total joint replacement center in Charlotte, N.C., March 6. n
