42 JOINT VENTURES Cardiac & orthopedics ASC opening in Dallas By Rachel Popa A multispecialty ASC is opening this month in Dallas in the North Dallas Corridor development. The Dallas Procedure Center was developed by Dr. Amit Mirchan- dani, and will offer spine procedures, cardiac therapies, pain management, orthopedics and ear, nose and throat procedures, among other services. The center has nine preoperative bays, 18 post-anesthesia care unit beds and two convalescent rooms. The center is next to a medical office building. The Dallas Proce- dure Center has applied for deemed status with Medicare and has completed its state health department inspections. "Dallas Procedure Center will have state-of-the-art care for minimally invasive spine care and cardiac therapies. It will bring more than 100 new jobs to the area and rejuvenation to a growing and resurgent area of Dallas," said Dr. Mirchandani. n Montecito Medical Real Estate buys two medical office buildings for $15.9M By Eric Oliver M ontecito Medical Real Estate purchased a pair of medical office buildings in Arkansas for $15.9 million from Hunter Haynes, a real estate developer, TB&P reports. What you should know: 1. The buildings total 35,743 square feet. 2. Rogers-based Mercy Hospital of Northwest Arkansas has long-term leases for both build- ings. 3. The hospital provides internal medicine, rheumatology and orthopedic care out of the buildings, which also house an ASC. 4. This is Montecito's first acquisition in Arkan- sas. n State approves Lexington Medical's $19.9M outpatient surgery center project — 3 insights By Eric Oliver T he South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control approved West Columbia, S.C.-based Lexington Medical Center's $19.9 million outpatient surgery center proposal in Columbia, S.C., FitsNews reports. What you should know: 1. The ASC will have three operating rooms. 2. It's unclear when Lexington Medical Center will begin construction on the project. 3. The state granted LMC another certificate of need to spend $1.9 million on imaging equip- ment for a new 225,000-square-foot medical office building. n UPMC surgery center receives $100K+ in federal funds By Eric Oliver U PMC Hamot Surgery Center received $145,564 through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act and the Paycheck Protection Program, Erie News Now reports. What you should know: 1. A UPMC Hamot spokesperson would only reveal what federal funds the surgery center received and didn't provide additional information for other UPMC facilities. 2. The Erie, Pa.-based surgery center was one of the top recipients in the region. 3. UPMC Hamot Surgery Center opened in 2001. It's a freestand- ing surgery center. n
