Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has acquired two Florida hospitals, Shands Starke Regional Medical Center and Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center, from Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems. West Virginia University Health System, an 11-hospital system based in Morgantown, has received a certificate of need from the state and signed a long-term lease to assume operation of Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, W.Va. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health, is selling Galesburg (Ill.) Cottage Hospital to SBJ Groups. Verity Health is selling two California hos- pitals, Seton Medical Center in Daly City, Calif., and Seton Coastside in Moss Beach, Calif., to AHMC Healthcare. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems has signed a definitive agreement to sell San Angelo (Texas) Community Medical Center to Shannon Health System in San An- gelo, Texas. e Carle Foundation in Urbana, Ill., will ac- quire two hospitals, BroMenn Medical Cen- ter in Normal, Ill., and Advocate Eureka (Ill.) Hospital, from Advocate Aurora Health, a 28-hospital system with dual headquarters in Downers Grove, Ill., and Milwaukee. Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Ky., has signed a letter of intent to join Owensboro (Ky.) Health. Verity Health System will sell its 384-bed hospital in Lynnwood, Calif., to for-profit hospital operator Prime Healthcare Services. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho-based Kootenai Health has acquired two Idaho hospitals, Clearwa- ter Valley Hospital in Orofino and St. Mary's Hospital and Clinics in Cottonwood, from Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health. Christus Health has finalized its acquisition of Central Texas Medical Center, a 170-bed facility in San Marcos. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger and Atlantic City, N.J.-based AtlantiCare have reached an agreement to part ways. St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam, N.Y., is slated to become an independent hospital aer 18 years as a member of St. Louis-based Ascension. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems is selling Regional Medical Center and 188-bed Brownwood (Texas) Regional Medical Center to Hendrick Health System. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems signed a definitive agreement to sell its majority ownership interest in St. Cloud (Fla.) Regional Medical Center to Orlando (Fla.) Health.
