Five insights: 1. The Johns Hopkins Health Care & Surgery Center-Green Spring Station Pavilion III is one of six buildings on Green Spring Station Campus in Lutherville, Md. 2. Many of the nearly 25,000 outpatient procedures per- formed each year at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore will now be offered at the 110,000-square-foot Pavilion III. 3. Pavilion III gives Johns Hopkins greater capacity for neuro- surgeries, cardiac surgeries and solid organ transplants. 4. General surgery, breast surgery, endocrine surgery and pediatric surgery are among the services available at the three-story building. 5. Johns Hopkins spent $80 million on the project. n Pacific Rim Outpatient Surgery Center acquired by PeaceHealth: 4 details By Laura Dyrda P eaceHealth in Vancouver, Wash., plans to acquire Bellingham, Wash.-based Pacific Rim Outpatient Surgery Center in a deal expected to finalize in March or April, according to the Bellingham Herald. Four details: 1. Pacific Rim has five operating rooms and three pro- cedure rooms, and almost 60 surgeons perform about 5,000 surgeries per year at the center. 2. After the acquisition, Pacific Rim will continue to operate independently "as they do today," according to the Herald. 3. The surgery center includes orthopedics, gynecol- ogy, neurology and oral surgery. 4. The 20,000-square-foot ASC was previously 100 per- cent physician owned. More details about the transac- tion will be forthcoming, according to the report. n
