Penney department store Dec. 30, The Post and Courier reports. What you should know: 1. The university health system built the $29.4 million MUSC Health West Ashley Medical Pavilion in just over a year's time. 2. The pavilion features an array of services including ambulatory surgery, musculoskeletal care and ophthalmology. The pavilion has two operating rooms, a laboratory, an after-hours pediatrics clinic and space for physical therapy. 3. MUSC leased space in the shopping mall for 15 years. 4. Charleston government officials believe the pavilion will help rede- velop the mall, which has struggled in recent years. n Anchor Health Properties acquires medical office buildings near Atlanta, Seattle By Eric Oliver A nchor Health Properties closed a pair of transactions near Atlanta and Seattle, continuing its trend of expanding to new markets, the company announced Jan. 7. What you should know: 1. Anchor acquired the Peachtree Professional Center in Peachtree City, Ga. The two-story, 45,000-square-foot Peachtree Professional Center is anchored by Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare. 2. Anchor also acquired Edmonds (Wash.) Medical Center. The two- story, 32,000-square-foot medical office building was built in 2012. The building has a CON-governed ASC and an imaging suite. The Everett (Wash.) Clinic leases space in the building. 3. Anchor Chief Investment Officer James Schmid said Seattle and Atlanta are high-growth markets for healthcare. 4. Mr. Schmid said Anchor's efforts to close off-market acquisitions differentiated the firm from competitors in 2019, adding, "We expect these efforts to continue to bear fruit in the years ahead." n TeamHealth acquires private anesthesia practice operations for Florida ASC By Eric Oliver K noxville, Tenn.-based TeamHealth will provide anesthesia services at Brandon (Fla.) Surgery Center through a part- nership with Jon Harmon, MD, and his team. What you should know: 1. Brandon Surgery Center sees around 9,800 patients annually. 2. Dr. Harmon's team of three anesthesiolo- gists and affiliated CRNAs provide care at the facility. They will become TeamHealth members. 3. Dr. Harmon and his team will use Team- Health's network of resources and operation- al support to advance their care goals. n Cleveland Eye Clinic joins Midwest Vision Partners — 4 insights By Eric Oliver P rivate equity-backed Midwest Vision Partners partnered with Cleveland Eye Clinic for an undisclosed sum. What you should know: 1. Cleveland Eye Clinic has more than 20 providers, eight clinical locations, three LASIK centers and two ASCs. 2. It was formed in 1943. 3. CEC retained the services of Physician Growth Partners as it navigated the PE invest- ment process. 4. Midwest Vision Partners is backed by PE firm Alpine Investors. n
