Many have built robust technology departments and teams, equipt with clinical and non-clinical experts. e individuals and institutions featured here have received recognition from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and in many cases their institutions have earned CHIME's HealthCare's Most Wired designation. Tom Andriola. Vice President and CIO of University of California Health (Oakland). Mr. Andriola oversees health IT for the University of California System's 10 campuses and five health systems. He joined the organization as CIO in 2013 and has a background as a business transformation leader for a billion-dollar enterprise. Mr. Andriola also serves as the managing chair for the California Tele- health Network, a nonprofit organization supporting underserved and safety-net clinics in the state. Paola Arbour. Executive Vice President and CIO of Tenet Healthcare (Dallas). Ms. Arbour is executive vice president and CIO of Tenet, overseeing leadership and strategic direction for the health system's IT systems. She also identifies opportunities to support the company's care network with digital technology, data automation and customer experience. In 2018, she headed four strategic imperatives, including the Voice of the Consumer strategy, which made IT a business enabler to achieve companywide objectives and outcomes. She also helped the system launch a vendor revitalization program, re-contracted with Cerner and Microso, and launched a self-funded innovation team. Ms. Arbour also serves on the Dallas CIO Governing Board and speaks at many Women in Technology forums. Michael Archuleta. CIO of Mt. San Rafael Hospital (Trinidad, Colo.). Mr. Archuleta has led the health IT department at Mt. San Rafael Hospital for the past 12 years, designing the first data center at the hospital and improving visualization efforts. He also serves on the board of directors for the Neural Network and is a healthcare ambassador for Fujitsu of America. Pamela Arora. Senior Vice President of Information Services and CIO of Children's Health (Dallas). Ms. Arora has more than three decades of IT experience. At Children's Health, which she joined in 2007, Ms. Arora is responsible for systems and technology, health information management and biomedical technology and support. During her tenure, the health system has achieved the HIMSS Stage 7 EMR Adoption designation and earned the HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award for innovative use of EHRs. Ms. Arora previously was senior vice president and CIO of Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health Care and CIO of Dallas-based Perot Systems. Sameer Badlani, MD. CIO of Fairview Health Services (Minneapolis). Dr. Badlani joined Fairview in April 2019 as CIO aer spending three years as chief health information officer and system vice president of enterprise data management and analytics at Sutter Health in Sacramento, Calif. He has experience with real-time data analytics and predictive analytics as well as serving as the advisor on technology and healthcare service startups and investments at Sutter. Daniel Barchi. Group Senior Vice President and CIO of NewYork- Presbyterian (New York City). Mr. Barchi is responsible for the strategic vision and IT management at NewYork-Presbyterian. He oversees the health system's innovation, analytics, artificial intelligence, telemedicine and pharmacy efforts. Mr. Barchi joined the system in 2015 aer spending time as senior vice president and CIO of Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System. omas Barnett. CIO of University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center. Mr. Barnett became CIO of University of Rochester Medical Center in October 2016. He has spent more than 20 years in the industry, including time as vice president of NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Ill., where he drove EHR deployment, enterprise data warehousing, Meaningful Use initiatives, IT security and the system's telemedicine strategy. Julie Berry. CIO of Steward Health Care System (Dallas). Ms. Berry has more than 20 years of experience in health IT. She served as Steward's chief technology officer before being named CIO in 2013. Before joining Steward, Ms. Berry was on the IT executive teams of Boston-based Partners HealthCare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium Technical Advisory Board. John Bosco. Senior Vice President and CIO of Northwell Health (New Hyde Park, N.Y.). Mr. Bosco is responsible for health IT at Northwell, deploying technology and business strategies as well as overseeing technology purchases, establishing IT policies, and ensuring security and privacy of technology systems. He joined Northwell in 2004 as vice president and chief technology officer where he oversaw the daily IT department operations. He has previous experience as a senior IT executive at Capgemini Ernst & Young. Geoffrey Brown. Vice President and CIO of Piedmont Healthcare (Atlanta). Mr. Brown has more than 35 years of experience in health IT, at both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
