For the report, researchers examined data on 27,000 physician job listings posted on Doximity from 2018 to 2019 for the top 50 metropolitan areas in the country. Since 2015, telemedicine has rapidly grown with- in the physician employment market; the number of physicians who have self-reported telemedi- cine as a skill has doubled, increasing 20 percent year-over-year. Dermatology n Google is developing AI to do more with 'much less data' By Andrea Park T hough Facebook's vice president of artificial intelligence predict- ed researchers attempting to scale AI solutions will soon "hit the wall," the head of Google's AI research group recently countered with many ways to get through, over and around that wall. In an interview with Wired, Google's Jeff Dean, PhD, said that much of AI's potential will come from building larger and more efficient computer systems and translating the research of the past decade into real-world uses, including in healthcare, where Dr. Dean said Google is doing "a fair amount of work." "But we also are looking at what are the next major problems on the horizon, given what we can do today and what we can't do," he contin- ued. "We want to build systems that can generalize to a new task. Being able to do things with much less data and with much less computation is going to be interesting and important." n
