Four things to know: 1. The jury convicted Gordon Freedman, MD, of accepting more than $300,000 from Insys that were described as speaker fees, but in actuality were bribes. The events where Dr. Freedman was alleg- edly speaking for educational purposes were instead social affairs, according to the report. 2. The jury also found Dr. Freedman, the fourth-highest prescriber of Subsys in 2014, guilty of violating honest services wire fraud. 3. Four other Manhattan physicians have pled guilty to accepting illegal kickbacks from Insys in similar cases. 4. Dr. Freedman's sentencing is scheduled for March 2020. n $49M Tennessee orthopedic ASC opens as part of Campbell Clinic expansion By Rachel Popa C ampbell Clinic's $49 million orthopedic expansion opened this week in Germantown, Tenn., according to Memphis Commercial Appeal.
