State-by-state breakdown By Angie Stewart C alifornia had the most Medicare-cer- tified ASCs as of June 2018, according to data from e Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Using data provided by CMS, ASCA reported the number of Medicare-certified ASCs in each state and Washington, D.C., as of June 2017 and June 2018. The ASC will have three operating rooms and 10 pre- and postoperative bays. It is expected to open in July 2020. Integrated Pain Associates has nine anesthesiologists serving more than 30,000 patients at its other practices in Temple and Waco, Texas. n
