Private equity firm sells ECG
Management Consultants to Siemens

H
ealthcare strategy firm ECG Management Consultants
was sold to Siemens Medical Solutions USA, a sub-
sidiary of Siemens Healthineers AG. The transaction
is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year pending
regulatory approval.
Gryphon Investors, a private equity firm based in San Francis-
co, acquired ECG in November 2014, and sold the company
to Siemens for an undisclosed amount. ECG provides opera-
tional, financial and technology consulting services to aca-
demic medical centers, health systems and medical groups.
ECG will operate as a standalone unit within Siemens Health-
ineers after the sale.

$5.8M joint venture ASC
breaks ground in Ohio

n partnership with local surgeons, Fisher-Titus
Convenient Care broke ground Oct. 7 on the
Surgery Center of North Central Ohio in Norwalk,
the Norwalk Reflector reported.
Surgeons from Bay Area Digestive Health, Northern
Ohio Foot and Ankle Specialist, NOMS Ear, Nose &
Throat, NOMS Access Orthopaedics and North Cen-
tral Eye Associates announced the joint ASC venture
in August. The $5.8 million project will encompass
more than 12,000 square feet and have three operat-
ing rooms and a procedure room.
It's expected to open late in 2020.

California practices merge, plan
to open surgery center

everly Hills-based California Elite Pain & Spine Institute
merged with BioHealth Pain Management, according to
CEPSI President Ben Shamloo, MD.
BioHealth Pain Management is the practice of Rostam Khosh-
sar, MD, with locations in Lawndale, Calif., and Whittier, Calif.
The combined organization plans to open a surgery center
called Biohealth Surgical Institute this month. The project has
been in the works since June.

Proposal submitted for $10.4M
Tennessee surgery center project

A
certificate of need was submitted to the state's Health
Service and Development Agency for the relocation
of the Specialty Surgery Center in Nashville, Tenn., ac-
cording to the Nashville Post.
The proposed $10.4 million project would include three new
procedure rooms and four operating rooms.
The center would be moved to a medical office development
that breaks ground this fall and scheduled to be completed
next year, called Lindsey's Corner.

Novant Health opens 4th
surgery center in under 2 years

ovant Health has opened four outpatient surgery
centers in the past 18 months, according to Tyler
Ross, director of supply chain operations.
The Winston-Salem, N.C.-based health system most
recently opened Novant Health Clemmons (N.C.)
Outpatient Surgery.
The first cases at Novant's newest outpatient center
were scheduled for Sept. 25.
"If you haven't joined the non-acute healthcare revo-
lution, then you're late to the party," Mr. Ross said in
a LinkedIn post.

$21M ASC expansion in the
works in Wisconsin

T
he Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, Wis., is
expanding with a $21 million ASC set to break
ground in October, according to CBS 3 Duluth.
The center will expand by 60,000 square feet and
renovate 8,000 square feet. The ASC will remain open
during the project, expected to take up to 18 months.
The expansion will add seven operating rooms, four
endoscopy suites, a post-anesthesia care unit and 18
pre- and post-surgery rooms.
