60 ORTHOPEDICS Orthopedic practice partners with HOPCo to establish new Florida care network By Alan Condon J acksonville, Fla.-based Southeast Orthopedic Specialists and Phoenix-based Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company partnered to form HOPCo South- east Specialty Care Network. HOPCo SSCN focuses on musculoskeletal management services and seeks to partner with other orthopedic practices, health systems and payers in Florida. e new partnership will include Southeast Orthopedic Specialists' 13 board-certified orthopedic surgeons as well as its sports medicine physiatrist, pain management physiatrist and chiropractor, among the other specialists in the group. e practice provides joint replacements, spine care, emergency orthopedics and regenerative medicine. HOPCo SSCN incorporates HOPCo's quality outcomes tracking analytics and so- ware, claims analytics and value-based resources which will help partnering healthcare organizations with cost savings. Four things to know: 1. Beacon's management team will lead operations at the MSO and provide extensive resources and capabilities to support the practice's clinical operations. Beacon was founded in 1996 and now has eight locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. 2. Revelstoke brings additional resources and investments to the partnership, al- lowing Beacon to grow. The PE firm is in the middle of a multiyear effort to partner with physician practices "in specialties that are well-positioned for growth and consolidation," according to Managing Director of Revelstoke Andrew Welch. 3. Proskauer Rose was legal counsel and Coker Capital Advisor was financial advi- sor to Beacon. McGuireWoods served as legal counsel to Revelstoke. 4. Revelstoke launched in 2013 and has raised around $1.4 billion of equity since then. The company has completed 57 acquisitions, including 14 platform com- panies and 43 add-on acquisitions. With nearly three decades of orthopedic and spine surgery experience, Dr. Weiss performs both laser and minimally invasive spine procedures. 3. After practicing in South Florida for more than 15 years, he joined Tampa, Fla.-based Laser Spine Institute, where he practiced for 14 years. 4. Dr. Weiss earned his medical degree from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Nova Southeastern University. He completed an internship and residency at East Lansing-based Michigan State University. "Dr. Weiss played an integral role in LSI's surgical program and their repu- tation for patient care," said SpineOne founder, CEO and medical director Perry Haney, MD.
