Regional Hospital CEO Rob Nahmensen is no longer employed at the hos- pital. Centura Health's St. omas More Hospital in Canon City, Colo., selected Kristi Olson to serve as interim CEO. Springhill (La.) Medical Center named Mike Patronis CEO. e Ohio State University in Columbus named Harold Paz, MD, executive vice president and chancellor for health affairs, effective in the spring. Amita Health Adventist Medical Center Hin- sdale (Ill.) President and CEO Steve Province suddenly resigned Feb. 14. Logan (W.Va.) Regional Medical Center dropped 'interim' from CEO Simon Ratliff's title. Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System selected Kelly Sager, MSN, to serve as Hospital and health system transactions Healthy Connections, which owns nine Arkansas clinics, plans to pur- chase De Queen (Ark.) Medical Center. Butler (Pa.) Health System and Clarion (Pa.) Healthcare System have signed an exclusive letter of intent to merge. Hennepin Healthcare and North Memorial Hospital, both based in Minneapolis, have entered into talks that could lead to a partnership or full merger. St. Louis-based SSM Health has stalled talks with the University of Mis- souri Health Care in Columbia to sell two hospitals, though the two orga- nizations intend to move forward with a partnership agreement. Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, Ill., and Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, Ill., have discontinued merger discussions roughly four months aer signing a letter of intent to combine their organizations. Santa Clara County will move forward with the purchase of O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, Calif., and Gilroy-based St. Louise Regional Hos- pital despite California Attorney General Xavier Becerra's efforts to block the sale. Atlanta-based Northside Hospital and Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Gwin- nett Health System have received approval from the FTC to merge. A newly formed nonprofit run by Bloomfield, N.J.-based Community Healthcare Associates completed its purchase of Salem, N.J.-based Me- morial Hospital of Salem County from Community Health Systems. Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health and Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System have decided to discontinue merger discussions roughly four months aer signing a letter of intent to combine their orga- nizations. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and San Francis- co-based Dignity Health have completed a deal to combine their systems. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare now owns 185 hospitals aer completing its purchase of Mission Health, a six-hospital system based in Asheville, N.C. Somerset (Pa.) Hospital will officially become UPMC Somerset Feb. 1, seven months aer the potential merger was announced. Pipeline Health, a privately held hospital ownership and management company based in Los Angeles, has acquired Arlington-based Texas Health Resources' majority stake in 22 freestanding emergency rooms. e Lee County (Va.) Hospital Authority has voted to partner with John- son City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health to reopen the shuttered Lee County Hospital. Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina is seeking to buy four rural hospitals from Community Health Systems for $137 million. Once the sale is finalized, CHS will have exited the South Carolina market entirely. Lebanon, N.H. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and GraniteOne Health in Manchester, N.H., have signed a letter of intent to merge their organi- zations. Milwaukee-based Advocate Aurora Health has signed an agreement to take full ownership over Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis., which will be renamed Aurora Medical Center - Bay Area. Ripley, W. Va.-based Jackson General Hospital will join Morgan- town-based West Virginia University Health System pending approval from the West Virginia Health Care Authority.
