Sister Carol Keehan, president and CEO of the Catholic Health Association of the United States, is retiring effective June 30. Pinehurst, N.C.-based FirstHealth of the Carolinas CEO David Kilarski is planning to retire at the end of July. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Children's Health appointed Paul King president and CEO of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto as well as Stanford Children's Health. John Knox, CEO of St. Luke's Baptist Hos- pital in San Antonio, plans to retire at the end of 2018. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and San Francisco-based Dignity Health selected Kevin E. Lofton as one of two CEO of the organization created by its merger. Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Hospital & Medical Center selected David L. Long- worth, MD, to serve as permanent CEO. StoneSprings Hospital Center in Dulles, Va., selected Matt Mathias to serve as CEO, effective Jan. 1. Frank May, CEO and president of Steam- boat Springs, Co.-based UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center, will retire Dec. 31, 2018, after serving the hospital for 20 years. Kerrville, Texas-based Peterson Health President and CEO Pat Murray is retiring at the end of April. Charles W. Neumann, interim president and CEO of Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health, retired at the end of 2018. Springfield, Pa.-based Crozer-Keystone Health System appointed Sharif Omar CEO. Medical City Healthcare tapped Jessica O'Neal to serve as CEO of Medical City Children's Hospital and Medical City Women's Hospital Dallas. All entities are based in Dallas. Keith Parrott, CEO of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala., is resigning at the end of 2018. Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital named Judith Persichilli, BSN, RN, acting president and CEO Dec. 13. Greensboro, N.C.-based Eagle Physicians named Sheri Raymer CEO. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger selected Jae- won Ryu, MD, to serve as interim president and CEO. Gino Santorio was appointed president and CEO of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health after being unanimously approved by the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners. David Scarpino, president and CEO of Kingston, N.Y.-based HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, will retire Dec. 31. John Schon, CEO of Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain, Mich., resigned effective Dec. 31, 2018. Anchorage-based Providence Health & waServices Alaska named Preston M. Sim- mons CEO, effective Jan. 1. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic selected Kent Thielen, MD, vice president of Mayo Clinic and CEO of Mayo Clinic's Florida campus in Jacksonville. Lynchburg, Va.-based Centra Health CEO, E.W. Tibbs Jr., resigned, ending his five- year tenure. Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Health Sys- tem named Emory Wayne Tibbs Jr., presi- dent and CEO, effective in January 2019. UnityPoint Health-Cedar Rapids (Iowa) President and CEO Theodore Townsend, Jr., will retire Dec. 31, 2018. Burlington, Mass.-based Wellforce selected Michael Wagner, MD, to serve as interim CEO, beginning Jan. 1, 2019. Lancaster, Calif.-based Antelope Valley Hospital CEO Michael Wall resigned after being placed on administrative leave. Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health selected James L. Woodward to serve as president and CEO of its newly formed five-hospital system called Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic. Jamestown, N.Y.-based UPMC Chautauqua President and CEO Betsy Wright is retiring Dec. 31, 2018. President UPMC named Richard Beigi, MD, presi- dent of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, effective Jan. 1, becoming the first physician to hold the position. Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare se- lected Carolyn Carpenter to serve as presi- dent of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Scott Gregerson, president of Pleasanton, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care-Valley- Care, is resigning, effective Jan. 4. Catholic Health Services of Long Island's Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, N.Y., appointed Ruth Hen- nessey president. Catholic Health Services of Long Island's St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y., tapped Charles Lucore to serve as president. Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System appointed Matt Novak president of Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Fla., and Mease Dunedin (Fla.) Hospital. UPMC appointed Mark O'Hern president of UPMC McKeesport (Pa.) and UPMC East in Monroeville, Pa.
