13 JOINT VENTURES North Carolina surgical center building sells for $1.93M — 5 details By Angie Stewart W inston-Salem, N.C.- based Kokonot Enter- prises sold the office building of Winston-Salem-based Novant Health Salem Surgical Associates for $1.93 million, Triad Business Journal reported. Here are five details: 1. William Scott Berger, MD, a surgeon at Winston-Salem-based Salem Surgical Associates, manages the 8,260-square-foot facility. e facility was built in 1980 and had an appraised value of $1.14 million, below the $1.93 million sale price. 2. Prosper Holdings Principal Rex Reynolds manages commercial re- al-estate developer PFI-Lyndhurst, the buyer. Mr. Reynolds told TBJ he isn't planning major changes to the facility. 3. e motivation behind the sale is unknown. 4. In August, Prosper purchased Greensboro (N.C.) Specialty Surgery Center from the practice's members for $9.3 million. 5. e Triad area has a pattern of medical buildings selling for more than their listed value. In July, Winston-Salem-based Skin Surgery Center surgeons sold the Vest Mill Medical Office building for $6.6 million. e property's tax value was $4.77 million. n KKR's $9.9B acquisition of Envision (AmSurg) is the biggest healthcare deal in Q2 — Top 5 deals to know By Rachel Popa T he U.S. health services industry generated 200 deals for the 15th quarter in a row, including several megadeals, according to PwC. Home Health & Hospice's acquisition of Curo Health Services - $1.4 billion n 5 new joint venture ASCs By Angie Stewart H ere are five new joint venture ASCs. 1. Hartford, Conn.-based St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center and Hartford-based Lighthouse Surgery Holdings partnered to build the Orthopedic and Spine Surgery Center in Hartford. 2. Morgantown, W. Va.-based Mon Health System partnered with physicians to operate a surgery cen- ter at its new campus in Morgantown, W. Va. 3. Lenoir, N.C.-based Caldwell UNC Health Care and a group of eight surgeons are teaming up to build a $7.1 million orthopedic ASC in Granite Falls, N.C. 4. Lincoln, Neb.-based Bryan Health completed the Lincoln-based Doctors Outpatient Surgery Center earlier this year. The surgery center anchors the first floor of the center. The ASC is a joint venture between Bryan Health and 76 area physicians. 5.
