Hospital and health system transactions
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health
Systems sold three Tennessee hospitals to Jack-
son-based West Tennessee Healthcare June 1.
Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare is
looking to expand its Gulf Coast Division by
acquiring North Cypress Medical Center in
Houston.
Randolph Health, a 145-bed facility in Ashe-
boro, N.C., and Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone
Health called off their plan to merge.
Berger Health System, a single-hospital sys-
tem based in Circleville, Ohio, entered formal
negotiations to join Columbus-based Ohio-
Health.
Boston-based Partners HealthCare and Prov-
idence, R.I.-based Care New England signed a
definitive agreement May 23, formalizing Part-
ners' intent to acquire CNE.
Green Bay, Wis.-based Bellin Health Systems
and Iron Mountain, Mich.-based Dickinson
County Healthcare System terminated their
purchase agreement May 21.
e Federal Trade Commission approved the
proposed partnership agreement between De-
catur, Ga.-based DeKalb Medical and Emory
Healthcare, an Atlanta-based health system.
Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital complet-
ed its acquisition of Huntington, W.Va.-based
St. Mary's Medical Center in May, aer an-
nouncing the deal nearly four years ago.
Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health entered
into a $361.4 million asset purchase agreement
with Elizabethtown, Ky.-based Hardin Memo-
rial Hospital.
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health
Systems divested 60-bed Byrd Regional Hospi-
tal in Leesville, La., to Allegiance Health Man-
agement in Shreveport, La., June 1.
Midland-based MidMichigan Health, an affil-
iate of Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine,
finalized the acquisition and integration of West
Branch (Mich.) Regional Medical Center.
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health
Systems sold 85-bed Tennova Health-
care-Jamestown (Tenn.) to West Palm Beach,
Fla.-based Rennova Health June 1.
Marlton, N.J.-based Virtua Health signed
a definitive agreement to acquire Lourdes
Health System from Carbondale, Pa.-based
Maxis Health, a subsidiary of Livonia, Mich.-
based Trinity Health.
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare completed the
sale of St. Louis-based Des Peres Hospital to
Chesterfield, Mo.-based St. Luke's Hospital.
Kansas City-based e University of Kansas
Health System signed a letter of intent to pur-
chase Great Bend (Kan.) Regional Hospital
and its affiliated clinics.
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health
Systems inked a definitive agreement to sell
Ocala, Fla.-based Munroe Regional Medical
Center and its assets to Orlando-based Florida
Hospital.
Boston-based Partners HealthCare closed on
its acquisition of Massachusetts Eye and Ear.
Summit Health, a two-hospital system in
Chambersburg, Pa., and six-hospital system
WellSpan Health in York, Pa., plan to merge.
Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth finalized its
acquisition of Pikes Peak Regional Hospital, a
15-bed facility in Woodland Park, Colo.
Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital, part of Yale New
Haven (Conn.) Health, is in talks to acquire Mil-
ford (Conn.) Hospital.
