Baptist Health entered into a $361.4 million as- set purchase agreement with Elizabethtown, Ky.- based Hardin Memorial Hospital, the Louisville, Ky.-based health system announced May 1. Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care and Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care finalized their merger April 1 to become Advocate Aurora Health. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health completed the sale of 77-bed Clearview Re- gional Medical Center in Monroe, Ga., to At- lanta-based Piedmont Healthcare. e Massachusetts Public Health Council ap- proved the proposed merger between Bos- ton-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Cen- ter, Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Health and three other healthcare organizations April 4. Summit Health, a two-hospital system in Chambersburg, Pa., WellSpan Health, a six-hospital system in York, Pa., announced plans to merge April 3. Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth finalized its acquisition of Pikes Peak Regional Hospital, a 15-bed facility in Woodland Park, Colo., UCHealth announced April 2. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has completed the sale of Specialty Hospital of Jack- sonville (Fla.), a long-term acute care hospital, to Garland, Texas-based Curahealth Hospitals. Midland-based MidMichigan Health, an af- filiate of Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medi- cine, finalized the integration of West Branch (Mich.) Regional Medical Center. Dover, Ohio-based Union Hospital became a full member of Cleveland Clinic, the health system announced April 2. Providence, R.I.-based CharterCare Health Partners announced plans April 12 to pur- chase and reopen Pawtucket, R.I.-based Me- morial Hospital, which closed last year. Chicago-based Rush Health System and Ever- green Park, Ill.-based Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers terminated their plans to integrate. Casper-based Wyoming Medical Center en- tered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mountain View Regional Hospital, also in Casper, WMC announced April 11. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems inked a definitive agreement to sell Ocala, Fla.-based Munroe Regional Medical Center and its assets, the 126-hospital system announced April 18. Louisville, Ky.-based KentuckyOne Health en- tered into a definitive agreement to sell Saint Jo- seph Martin (Ky.) and its four clinics to Lexington, Ky.-based Appalachian Regional Healthcare. Kansas City-based e University of Kansas Health System revealed April 25 the institution signed a letter of intent to purchase Great Bend (Kan.) Regional Hospital and its affiliated clinics. Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health and Irvine, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health formed a joint operating company to integrate select facilities in Northern California, the organiza- tions announced April 23. St. Louis-based Ascension signed a nonbind- ing letter of intent to transfer ownership of one of its Connecticut-based assets to Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare. e board of Mission Health, a six-hospital, nonprofit system based in Asheville, N.C., has signed a letter of intent to join Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare. Coudersport, Pa.-based Cole Memorial Hos- pital officially completed its integration with Pittsburgh-based UPMC. e Federal Trade Commission approved the proposed partnership agreement between De- catur, Ga.-based DeKalb Medical and Emory Healthcare, the Atlanta-based health system announced May 8. Hospital and health system executive moves Lockport, N.Y.-based Eastern Niagara Hos- pital CEO Clare Haar is leaving, following the organization's decision to affiliate with Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health. Franklin County commissioners unani- mously voted to replace Apalachicola, Fla.- based Weems Memorial Hospital CEO Mike Cooper. UnityPoint Health-Des Moines (Iowa) se- lected Jennifer Havens, RN, to serve as CEO of Grinnell (Iowa) Regional Medical Center, effective July 30. Munson Healthcare Grayling (Mich.) Hos- pital President and CEO Stephanie Riemer is retiring at the end of August. Longmont (Colo.) United Hospital tapped Christina Johnson, MD, to serve as CEO, effective May 14. Port Lavaca, Texas-based Memorial Medical Center appointed Diane Moore CFO. Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Lo- gan, Ohio, named Stacey Gabriel, BSN, RN, president and CEO, effective June 1. Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark., named Curren Everett CEO, effective July 5. Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Wash., tapped James Hansen to serve as CFO, effective May 1 Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health se- lected Gregory Argyros, MD, to serve as senior vice president as well as president of MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., effective July 1. Tucson, Ariz.-based Carondelet Health Net- work selected Mark Benz to serve as market CEO. Brentwood, Tenn.-based RCCH HealthCare Partners named Lance Beus CEO of Wilm- ington, Ohio-based CMH Regional Health System, effective June 4.
